Remarks This common name is also presented in reference 39184. The name is additionally used for the species "C. amblyrhynchos" and "C. plumbeus". Manô is a general name for sharks in the Hawaiian language. It with a subsequent modifier denotes other species of sharks. A macron over the vowel (ô) indicates a longer sounding of the vowel than usual.
