Type locality, about 50 miles south of Mangala, Upper Congo (holotype of Ctenopoma weeksii) (Ref. 46206). Also Ref. 6803.

Issue
The species Anabas oxyrhynchus Boulenger, 1902 is considered as valid in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. May 2011: Ref. 86870). It is treated here as a synoym of Ctenopoma weeksii Boulenger, 1896 following ICZN's decision to retain the name Ctenopoma weeksii based on the principle of priority (G. Boden, pers. comm).
