Africa: known from the Nyong in Cameroon (Ref. 81639), and rivers Luculla (Ref. 1869) and Quanza (Ref. 1869, 120641) in Angola. Also reported, as Labeobarbus cf. rocadasi, from the lower Congo (Ref. 94750); needs confirmation.

পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 1; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 10-13; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 8. Diagnosis: mouth inferior, lips moderately developed, lower lip continuous; two pairs of well-developed barbels, anterior pair shorter than posterior pair, which are as long as or longer than eye diameter; last simple ray of dorsal fin very strong and ossified, not serrated, measuring 0.6-1 times head length; lower jaw not reaching to anterior margin of eye; 30-35 scales in lateral line (Ref. 81639).
