Espinhos dorsais (total): 18 - 19; Raios dorsais moles (total): 8-10; Espinhos anais 6-7; Raios anais moles: 6 - 7; Vértebras: 30 - 32. Body depth 30.2-33.7% of SL (Ref. 47158). A lunate, filamentous caudal fin (Ref. 47158). Caudal peduncle length is 102-114% of its depth (Ref. 47158). A yellow or orange-yellow body color with V-shaped markings on the preoperculum and operculum (Ref. 47158).

Prefers the shallow, rocky habitat; maintains close contact with rocky substrate; adults do not form schools; omnivorous (Ref. 47158).
