Comments: Type locality of Alburnus sellal adanensis, Adana. Found in Ceyhan and Seyhan river watersheds. This species is sensitive to human activities (Ref. 58342). Probably exinct since there are no recent records despite several field surveys (Ref, 129015). Also Ref. 106151. Status of threat: Vulnerable. Threatened due to habitat loss, eutrophication, construction measures in rivers, and water abstraction (Ref. 58342).

Described by the following characteristics: lateral line scales 60-66 (vs. 49-59 in A. kotschyi); scale rows between the lateral line and the dorsal-fin origin 11-14 (vs. 9-11 in A. kotschyi); scale rows between the lateral line and the anal-fin origin 5-6 (vs. 4-6 in A. kotschyi); branched anal-fin rays 10-12 (vs. 9½-11½ in A. kotschyi) (Ref. 129015).
