Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Chrominae
Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 5 - 97 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico to the eastern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, western Cuba, Florida, and the U.S. southern Atlantic coast.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit steep slopes and outer patch reefs. They occur in small groups near small outcrops (Ref. 9710). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
