Max. size:  20.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range - 8 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in sheltered bays and gulfs where the bottom is of soft organic mud. All localities were less than 500 m from the shore (Ref. 4983). Feeds on fish, predominantly Haplochromis (Ref. 558).
