Family:  Microdesmidae (Wormfishes), subfamily: Ptereleotrinae
Max. size:  6.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 42 - 69 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: from Mauritius, KwaZulu-Natal, southern Mozambique, Red Sea to the Thai coast of the Andaman Sea, and the Andaman Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Often occurs on deep outer-reef slopes over sand or sand and rubble substrata, mostly in clear-water areas with moderate current; and usually encountered in pairs.
