Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Atlantic coastal river basins in Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Bottom spawner, 4 months incubation. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
