Max. size:  18 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine; depth range - 100 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Mozambique Channel off Inhambane.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-15; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Preserved specimen greyish, lighter below; 11 dark bands along body and head; fins dusky (Ref. 2799).
Biology:  Known from a single specimen.
IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient (DD); Date assessed: 28 June 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
