Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Upper Negro and Orinoco River basins.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-12; Anal soft rays: 19-24; Vertebrae: 32-34. About 12 or 13 scale rows around narrowest portion of caudal peduncle.
Biology:  Inhabits still waters of shaded rain forest streams (Ref. 28825).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 04 March 2021 Ref. (130435)
