Max. size:  3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 5.5 - 7; dH range: 2 - 10
Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  In the sand of shallow rivers and creeks; parasitic, entering gill chambers of larger catfishes; also known for entering, probably by mistake, the ureta of mammals urinating under water (Ref. 13371).
