Etymology: Horaglanis: Taken from mister S.L.Hora, director of Zoological Survey of India + Latin, glanis = a cat fish (Ref. 45335);  abdulkalami: Named for the f the former president of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, who ignited young minds towards the real world of Science and Technology..

Short description Morfologia | Morfometria

Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 21; Raggi anali molli: 15. Distinguished by having the following combination of characters: body narrow, elongated, sub-cylindrical, small sized; dorsal fin soft with 21 unbranched rays; anal fin soft with 15 unbranched rays; caudal fin is not confluent with dorsal and anal fins, round in shape and with 28 fin rays (including the procumbent rays); pectoral fin round, highly vestigial and not visible with naked eyes; and a pair of pseudo-tympanic membranes on both lateral sides of the head base, near to the pectoral fin (Ref. 92945)
