Comments: Ranges from northern British Columbia southward (Ref. 2850). The high content of vitamin 'A' in its liver encouraged a fishery for this species in the early 1940's which peaked in 1944. During this period, it was caught mostly off the west coast of Vancouver Island and in Hecate Strait with sunken gillnets. Also Ref. 43939.
