Definition of Term

aerial trap
(English) Jumping fish (e.g. mullets) and gliding fish (flying fish) can be caught on the surface in boxes, rafts, boats and nets ('veranda nets'). The fish are sometimes frightened to get them to jump out of the water.

(French) Les poissons sauteurs (ex: mulets) ou planeurs (poissons volants ou exocets) peuvent etre capturés à la surface dans des caisses, nattes ou bateaux, ainsi que dans des filets (appelés "sautades" ou "vérandas"). On effraie le poisson pour l'inciter à sauter hors de l'eau.
