Definition of Term

fully exploited
(English) State when removal of individuals is equal to the number of recruits entering the fishery (deaths = births). In fisheries management this is the point where the population curve is at the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) and any further increase in effort will lead to overfishing. (See also: maximum sustainable yield, recruitment, fishing effort)
(See also: maximum sustainable yield, recruitment, fishing effort)
