Remarks Name applied to Orthopristis poeyi. 'Goret' from Old French 'gore', i.e., sow (an adult female swine), with an onomatopoeic origin after 'a cry for help' (p. 347 in Ref. 9404). Name not listed in ASFIS version 2006 (Ref. 56807). Name applied to Orthopristis poeyi.
