Comments: Known from Ambriz (holotype locality; Loge River basin) (Ref. 11970, 81644) and from the southern Congo River basin (Ref. 120641) in the Luachimo, Chiumbe, Chicapa, Kwilu and Kwango rivers (Ref. 11970), in the Kasai drainage of the middle Congo River basin (Ref. 58526). Report from the "Cuanza (Atlantic coastal)" (Ref. 120641) probably refers to the Cuanzan drainage basin or Cuanza Ichthyological Province, including various Angolan coastal basins, and not (only) the Cuanza river basin. Also Ref. 4537, 120641.

Diagnosis: small supraorbital process on infraorbital IV, not reaching the rostral border of the eye; fenestra between scapulo-coracoid and cleithrum absent; interdigitation between entopterygoid and quadrate (Ref. 81644).
