Comments: Type locality, north of Dampier Archipelago, Western Australia, CSIRO H 994-1 (holotype of Halaelurus sellus, 35.1 cm TL, adult male). Known from off northwestern Australia from off Shark Bay (Western Australia) to the Arafura Sea (Northern Territory) (Ref. 59315).
