Comments: Ranges from Walvis Bay southward (Ref. 4103). Caught mainly with longlines and in bottom trawls (Ref. 27121). One of the most important groundfish (Ref. 27121). This species was important commercially, but due to overfishing its catches now amount to a few thousand tonnes a year (Ref. 36731). Also Ref. 3686, 12484, 34024, 54854.
