Indian Ocean: between 20°S and 30°S. Western Pacific: New Zealand (Ref. 5755). Central and northeast Pacific: between 35°N and 12°N.

Epipelagic to mesopelagic (Ref. 31442). Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and neustonic larvae (Ref. 31442).
