Espinas dorsales (total) : 4; Radios blandos dorsales (total) : 8; Espinas anales: 3; Radios blandos anales: 5. Mouth opening transverse, almost straight. Postdorsal distance usually larger than the predorsal: 100-108% of this. Edge of dorsal fin almost straight. Sides with brownish spots irregularly arranged in the upper half of the body.
