Known from Burdur Province, Burdur Gölü tributary, with A. chantrei fontinalis taken from a spring near Lake Yarışlı; A. chantrei altus taken from the spring Karapınar near Yeşilova and A. chantrei litoralis from Lake Bahçeözü (Lake Karatas). Additional specimens of A. chantrei altus and A. chantrei litoralis for molecular study taken from the spring Karapýnar near Yeþilova and Pýnarbaþý near Kemer in Lake Karataþ basin, respectively (Ref. 116528). This fish is distinguished from its congenerss by having a wide black anal-fin margin in males (vs. narrow in anatoliae, maeandricus, meridionalis, danfordii, marassantensis, villwocki) and with body being completely covered by scales (vs. scales reduced in transgrediens, saldae, splendens, sureyanus) (Ref. 116528).
