Occurs over shallow muddy and sandy bottoms of the continental shelf), mainly near estuaries and sometimes entering rivers (Ref. 57343). Feeds mainly on small benthic crustaceans, especially prawns and crabs, and small fishes. Percentage of fishes eaten increases with size.
