| Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 26-26; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 25-25. This species is characterized by the following: body elongated, moderately deep, with its upper anterior profile almost straight with shallow notches in front of the eye and beginning of the dorsal fin; scales with deep posterior ridges with short ctenias at the margin; head length 2.1 times the standard length; subvertical mouth slit; lips not broadened; straight premaxillary, with no notch at the alveolar process; retroarticulare without spine; orbit diameter 2.1 times the head length and upper jaw 2.2 times the orbit diameter; 16 gill rakers (Ref. 57877). | |||
