Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: coast of Arabian Peninsula (Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea in Oman and Yemen) east to Pakistan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Amphidromous, occurring in fresh and brackish waters, mostly rivers and estuaries. Inhabits pools and running water, usually over sandy substrate into which it may bury itself with only the head and eyes exposed (Ref. 110099).
