Max. size:  79.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater,
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Malawi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Has been caught at a depth of 55 m over a muddy bottom. Feeds on fishes and crustaceans (Ref. 5595). Indications that this species might perhaps normally be found in shallower regions (Ref. 78218).
