Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7; dH range: 15
Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, from the Pacaya River basin (Ucayali River drainage) to the lower Yavarí River.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit forest clear-water streams running down slopes, with much reduced flow, and abundant forest litter (Ref. 9088). Eggs are deposited on leaves and guarded by both parents; larvae are taken into the mouth (Ref. 40602).
