Max. size:  20 cm NG (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 8
Distribution:  Asia: Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Thailand.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 10-12. Jaws short; scales fairly deciduous. No barbels.
Biology:  Found in streams and ponds in plains and mountainous regions (Ref. 41236). Oviparous (Ref. 205).
