Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10. This species is distinguished by the following characters: very minute cycloid scales throughout the body; 70 scales in longitudinal series and pointed teeth on jaws arranged in several rows (Ref.83984); characterized further by having generally brown body color with 3-4 darker bands across side; mottled or spotted fins; completely united pelvic fins with well-developed frenum, reaching nearly to anus; pointed caudal fin; head and body with cycloid scales; presence of predorsal scales; head with prominent papillae ridges; depth of body 7.4 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
