Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range - 3268 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: USA.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 43-43; Anal soft rays: 40-40; Vertebrae: 53-53. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: well-developed suction disk; anteriorly positioned anus; simple canine teeth; 22 pectoral-fin rays, the upper 4 of which extend well beyond the other rays; round head; eight caudal-fin rays; large eye; and pink coloration with bumpy flesh, particularly anteriorly, in life (Ref. 137874).
