Dorsal spines (total): 14-14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-17; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 17-18. Description: Deep bodied. Overall color is red-orange with numerous narrow, vertical, irregular golden lines on the sides. A thin dark line ring the eye. Several dark olive submarginal ones on the median fins (Ref. 2334). Body depth 1.6-1.8 in SL. Scales longitudinal series 45-50 (Ref. 90102). |
Found among coral and sponge of seaward reef slopes (Ref. 37816). Cryptic, seldom seen by divers. Feeds on flake food and brine shrimp (Ref. 37816). Rarely exported through the aquarium trade (Ref. 48391). |
