Description: Body color is bright yellow to orange-yellow with a big black blotch on the upper posterior portion of the trunk and a vertical black bar running through the eye (Ref. 4855). Snout length 2.9-3.3 in HL. Body depth 1.4-1.6 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
In coastal reef slopes rich with hydroids and anemones. Small juveniles secretive in coral thickets (Ref. 48636). Usually solitary and relatively uncommon. Feed on coral polyps and invertebrates (Ref. 9710). Oviparous (Ref. 205), monogamous (Ref. 52884). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205). |
