Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 230 - 350 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: known from 3 seamounts in the western part of the Sala y Gomez submarine ridge between 25°01'-25°11'S and 97°28'-100°49'W.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-15; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 18-18; Vertebrae: 28-28. Head almost completely covered by scales (scales absent only in lips, chin, branchiostegal membranes and narrow band on snout in front of eyes); first ray of spiny dorsal fin elongated in males (Ref. 41739).
