| Diagnosis: | Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 6-6; Vertebrae: 26-26. This species is distinct in having the following characters: D XII, 8; pectoral 13; vertebrae total 26, 4 dorsal spines anterior to 3rd neural spine; posterior portion of maxilla without papillae; first pair of sensory pores of lower jaw contralaterally fused; isthmus tip almost reaching the 5th sensory pore of lower jaw; vomerine teeth absent; upper jaw longer than lachrymal; preopercular spines 5; weakly developed lower jaw papillae; body and fins with pinkish spots (Ref. 76876). | |||
