Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Delagoa Bay, Mozambique to Durban, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 126-130; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 105-110. Upper side uniformly brown; caudal fin and posterior parts of dorsal and anal fins blackish (Ref. 4418).
Biology:  Feeds on small invertebrates (Ref. 5213).
