Max. size:  7.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean : Gulf of Oman, Iran.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-17; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 14-14; Vertebrae: 24-24. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: cheek and anterior breast are scaleless (scaly area not extending anteriorly beyond a line between pectoral-fin insertion and anteroventral tip of cleithrum); lateral-line scales 70-85; with a single monocuspid preorbital spine; BD 37-49% SL; dark dots arranged in a grid pattern on dorsolateral body without vertical lines (Ref. 123706).
