Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 8.5 - 9.19999980926514; dH range: 8 - 14; depth range - 35 m
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to the south western part of Lake Tanganyika, north of Sumbu national park in Zambia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Usually found on rocks and rubble; very stationary and territorial. The center of the territory is a crack or fissure in the rock. Feeds mainly on crustaceans which are picked from rocks and very occasionally from drifting matter (Ref. 6770). Aquarium keeping: in pairs; minimum aquarium size 60 cm (Ref. 51539).
