Biology: |
Occurs in clear waters with boulders and sandy substrate. Associated fauna and flora include: Hoplias malabaricus (Moncholo), Brycon fowleri (Sabaleta); (Characidium fasciatum (Mazorca); Hemibrycon velox (Sardina); Inga densiflora (Guamo); Cecropia peltata (Guarumo); Alocasia macrorhiza (Bore); Carludovica palmata (Anacuma); and Calathea lutea (Bijao). Captured individuals with mature ova (Ref. 83638). |
