Occupies the upper middle strata of the water column along the sides of slow-flowing, perennial rivers and usually occurs among marginal weeds and roots (Ref. 6028). Probably feeds on zooplankton in the wild. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males may be brooding at 8.5 cm SL. |
