Family:  Acestrorhamphidae (American tetras), subfamily: Megalamphodinae
Max. size:  6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6 - 7; dH range: 5 - 12
Distribution:  South America: Lake Valencia basin in Venezuela.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Feeds on worms, crustaceans and insects (Ref. 7020). Aquarium keeping: in groups of 5 or more individuals; minimum aquarium size 80 cm (Ref. 51539).
