Family:  Mullidae (Goatfishes)
Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 12 - 15 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Seychelles, Line and Marquesas islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in coral and rocky reefs. Mimics Lutjanus kasmira and may form aggregations with the said species during the day. Probably disperses at night to feed.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 11 March 2015 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
