Mylochromis labidodon (Trewavas, 1935)

Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  18 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range - 20 m
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Known only from the type specimens taken from Mwaya, Tanzania and Deep Bay, Malawi.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Prefers shallow sandy areas with the bottom covered partly with small rocks and pebbles. Feeds by turning small stones and checking what is underneath (Ref. 5595).
