Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range - 9 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: East Africa to the Great Barrier Reef, north to Sri Lanka.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-22. Tan to brown in color, sometimes with narrow black streaks on head and body (Ref. 4281).
Biology:  Inhabits reef or coral habitats (Ref. 4281). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
