Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 608 - 766 m
Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic: Ireland and Spain.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal soft rays: 10-12. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: short anal fin base 25.7-34% HL; short pelvic fin 40.4-59.6% HL; LO photophores 20-24; greater eye 20.3-28.8% HL; longer pre-anal distance 72.2-79% SL; gillrakers 14-15 (Ref. 132978).
