Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  5.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: disjunct distribution in the Nile system in Sudan, South Sudan and Ethiopia (Ref. 82677).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits temporary pools and channels in and around foothills of the Nuba mountains and bordering the Sudd wetland; feeds on cladocerans, copepods, ostracods and insects (Ref. 28714). Annual species; eggs resist desiccation during dry season (Ref. 97278). Bottom spawner, 3-6 months incubation (Ref. 27139). Sexual maturity reached in 5 weeks (Ref. 59344).
