Family:  Arhynchobatidae (Softnose skates)
Max. size:  64.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 765 - 1440 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A benthic species found on continental slope (Ref. 114953). Length of smallest mature male 53.5 cm TL and smallest juvenile 19.3 cm TL (Ref. 75642). Occasionally caught by deep-sea trawlers (Ref. 114953).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 19 February 2015 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
