Max. size:  21.44 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Kapuas River drainage in western Borneo; Batang Hari, Deli, Indragiri and Musi River drainages in Sumatra, Indonesia; and Bernam, Endau, Pahang, Pattani and Perak River drainages in Malay Peninsula.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 3-4; Anal soft rays: 76-85; Vertebrae: 56-58. Head width 11.4-13.3% SL; caudal peduncle depth 3.7-4.3% SL; anal fin rays 76-85; vertebrae 56-58 (Ref. 52514).
Biology:  Inhabits large, slow flowing rivers and lakes (Ref. 52514) and swamps (Ref. 56749). Juveniles sometimes occur in smaller streams (Ref. 52514). Feeds on smaller fishes and crustaceans (Ref. 52514).
