Family:  Akysidae (Stream catfishes), subfamily: Parakysinae
Max. size:  4.57 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Singapore, Peninsular Malaysia and Indonesia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs from clumps of vegetation in streams with flowing waters. Sympatric with P. verruisus. Nocturnal (Ref. 13847). Recorded from fast-flowing, well shaded swamp-forest streams with acidic waters, and dense growth of submerged vegetation. Feeds on minute invertebrates and uses its dexterous and strong pelvic fins to move about (Ref. 85309).
