Distribution:  Asia: Johor, Malaysia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-7; Anal spines: 10-12; Anal soft rays: 9-13. Differs from its congeners by the unique coloration of the unpaired fins of the male, especially by the broad red band between two broad black bands and the absence of blue markings (Ref. 56232).
